Sean Ferrer, a son of legendary Audrey Hepburn came to St. Petersburg and visited Tiffany’s Cafe. The heir of the actress eagerly shared the impressions about t the city and Tiffany’s Cafe.

Audrey Hepburn — a movie star that became a symbol of the whole epoch. She’s glorified Givenchy and Tiffany & Co, gained hearts of millions, inspired several generations of artist, writers and musicians and got a place in history as an ideal of noble beauty, femininity and harmony. Her name is in history forever and her image still heats the imagination.

A son of the famous mother, Sean came to St. Petersburg with a semi-official visit. An exhibition dedicated to the great actress is being planned this year in St. Petersburg. Audrey’s heir visited Tiffany’s Cafe for an exclusive interview.

Sean, will you tell us a few words about the coming project?

The exposition Atemporal Audrey is dedicated to life and partnership of Audrey and Hubert de Givenchy, 80th anniversary of the designer and 20 years of collaboration with United Nation Children’s Fund. There’ll be eleven so-called “time capsules”, where one will see not only Audrey movie star, but also Audrey in occupied Holland, Audrey taking care of children in Africa and certainly Audrey mother. Each capsule tells about a certain period of her life. Visitors will see her personal belongings, letters, favorite movies and even Oscar statuette. Visiting the exhibition you’ll understand why Audrey Hepburn got the status of a legend.

Audrey and Hubert de Givenchy, it’s a nice story. When did she become a muse of the famous couturier?

In 1953, a year after opening of the famous fashion house Givenchy. Till the end of her life she inspired Hubert de Givenchy. He created clothes not only for movies Funny Face, Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s but for her private life as well. In 1957 he dedicated to her the first perfume of the fashion house L’Interdit.

Not every woman is able to inspire. How did she manage to do it?

She was flourishing from the inside, her eyes were always shining. That was a true interest to life and people, who make it bright and beautiful. Such people find the way to each other and their activity improves the world around us.

Will the famous fashion house support the exhibition in St. Petersburg?

We aren’t sure yet. May be LVMH Group which includes Givenchy will become a partner of the action.

You mentioned about contribution of your mother to United Nation Children’s Fund. Does it mean that besides cultural mission the exhibition was organized to collect money for the fund?

Yes, all collected money is going to special program of the fund All Children in School. Part of them will go to local children fund here in St. Petersburg.

Her last years Audrey dedicated to wretched children. In 1988 she became a good will ambassador of the United Nation Children’s Fund. Then she said: “I speak for those children, who can’t protect themselves, who have nothing but their firmness, their smiles, their dreams.” In 1994, a year after Audrey Hepburn’s death a charity fund named after her was established. I regard it my duty to continue her glorious deed.

Audrey Hepburn is for sure an ideal of harmony and beauty. Will you disclose her secret?

There is no secret, just purity of her thoughts. She always knew what to aim and what it’s necessary for. Whatever she did, she did it with pleasure. That’s the main merit of her life.
